Cornell Chris - "Sunshower"
#----------------------------------PLEASE NOTE--------------------------------# #This file is the authors own work and represents their interpretation of the# #song. Head Down, Limo Wreck, Pretty Noose, Burden in My Hand, etc.). (I also noticed that the solo/riffs were similar to the songs above.) Earlier, i tried to figure our the song ("kapa"), using Open C, Open G, and this weird tuning (DGGDGGD). Using DSChordfinder (by 1994/1995 Dubbledam Software), i got the gist of the song, then i tried to figure out the roots of the chords by ear. Sunshower is a great song; very powerful indeed. (reminds of "The Day I Tried to Live"/"Head Down"). The second verse has this sub-aquatic wah arrangement in the background (reminds me of Breads "If"). If there are any corrections, please dont fail to inform me. There have been a lot of requests for the chord positions, so here goes... Whenever you see a slash after a chord name, (x/y), the chord at the left of the slash is the root chord, while the chord at the right of the slash is the bass chord. Sketchy' Lets take G/F as an example: (g) |------3--- |---------- |---------- |---------- |----2----- |------3--- is the root (left of the slash), while (f)|-1------------ |-1------------ |-1--2--------- |-1-----3------ |-1-----3------ |-1----------- is the bass chord (on the right; im not sure if my terminologies are correct, but, what the heck...). You do the ordinary chord position of the root, but instead of executing the regular bass notes, do the note indicated by the bass chord. Gets' for G/F, do the non-barred G, but instead of fretting (g) |------3--- |---------- |---------- |---------- |----2----- |------3--- (bass) on the 3rd fret of the sixth string, fret (f)|-1------------ |-1------------ |-1--2--------- |-1-----3------ |-1-----3------ |-1----------- (bass) which is on the first fret of the sixth string. I hope the guide below will help. fret-> open 1 2 3 4 5 string / 1 e (high) E F F# G G# A 2 B B C C# D Eb E 3 G G G# A Bb B C 4 D D Eb E F F# G 5 A A Bb B C C# D 6 (e)|------------ |------------ |---1-------- |------2----- |------2----- |------------ (low) E F F# G G# A for sunshower, check out the guide below: (x = dead: actually, the chords arent strummed per se... pick the bass notes first, then the treble notes afterwards) G/F G/E G/Bb G/C G/B Cdim 1e 3 3 3 3 3 2 2B 3 3 3 3 3 1 3G 0 0 0 0 0 2 4D 0 0 0 0 0 1 5A x x 1 3 2 x 6E 1 0 x x x x see the pattern (as compared to the chart above') Oh yeah, do this before switching to G/B: G|---0 (h)|-2-------- |-2--4----- |-2--4----- |-2--4----- |-2-------- |-2-------- 2 --| (D chord position, plucking strings 1&2 afterwards) Play with the chords in this song: the Ds are actually Dsus/D progressions (like what you hear in old songs such as "Patience"/"Guitar Man"... u know..."ang pinaka gas-gas na rhy. fill.") The As are quick progressions of As and Asuss; play with your Es by placing 4 (your pinkie) on (d)|---2------ |-----3---- |---2------ |---------- |---------- |---------- (2nd string, 3rd fret).
