This tune is based around a chromatic ascending power chord tuned way down to a (d)|---2------ |-----3---- |---2------ |---------- |---------- |---------- (that means, from high to low, the strings are D, A, F, C, G, D). To attain that rude tone that Darrell uses, you must first set your distortion level pretty high. Second, add a little stereo chorus (with the rate set just before midpoint) to give the guitar a little breathing room. Personally, I find that tube amps work GREAT for Panteras tone. But I read recently in an interview that Darrells Randall amps are solid-state!!! (Youll understand what I mean if you play through a solid state amp and try to get a Pantera-like tone). Its your call, though. Work with whatever you feel is right. Finally, throw a wah-pedal in for the interlude. Jam the pickup switch up to the neck for a fat, chunky sound and your set! Have fun.
